SAMPLE CUMMINS WITH EGR FAULT
STEP1 Truck comes
in with Check Engine Light
STEP 2 Hook up PF-Diagnose and scan for codes
Code 1896 SPN 2791 FMI 13 has 111 occurrences
ACTIVE
EGR VALVE CONTROLLER OUT OF CALIBRATION
Replace EGR Valve
Rescan codes, EGR Code now
INACTIVE
CLEAR CODES
JOB COMPLETE !
|
This is an
actual sample of a case where a truck came into the shop with a check engine
light on. Without PF-Diagnose, the truck would have to go to the dealer
for repair.
With PF-Diagnose the engine was scanned and found to
have an active fault code for EGR VALVE CONTROLLER - OUT OF CALIBRATION
Checking we found that this can only be repaired by replacing the EGR valve,
also if not replaced can cause DPF Damage...
We ordered a valve, replaced
it - 6 bolts and 2 gaskets, under 1 hr. Reconnected and the code was then
inactive and the check engine lamp was out.
We performed a few snap
tests, cleared the codes and the truck is back on the road... No more
check engine lamp, no risk of DPF Damage
The cost of scanning at the
dealer, transportation costs, down time and labour is more than the cost of
PF-Diagnose in just one real scenario.
PF-Diagnose will pay for
itself !
